Eublefar
It belongs to the family eublefar. It differs from them in the presence of eyelids and a somewhat swollen tail. The length of the trunk is from 25 to 30 cm. Females are slightly smaller. It lives in the subtropics and tropics of Africa, India and America. He leads a nocturnal and twilight lifestyle, hiding under rocks and in caves during the day. It feeds on arthropods and their larvae, various insects, baby mice, small lizards, including its own young. Social, lives in groups of one male and several females. Males actively defend their territory from other males. In nature, the life expectancy of males is 8-10 years, single females 5-8 years, and females who constantly reproduce - 3-4 years. In terrariums, the life expectancy of eublefars can reach 20 years. They are easily tamed and over time begin to distinguish the owner among other people. They reach sexual maturity at the age of 9 to 12 months. The breeding season begins after hibernation. Egg laying occurs approximately 3-4 weeks after mating. There are 1-2 eggs in a clutch. There can be up to 10 clutches per year.
